out of my window in Vlieland

Oost-Vlieland, Friesland, The Netherlands.

I've been to Vlieland twice to indie pop music festival Into the Great Wide Open. Relaxed atmosphere, children friendly, organic food, artists performing in the woods or improvising at camp fires on the beach, if you're lucky to have nice weather it can turn into the perfect weekend for music festival lovers.

The island itself is beautiful to explore it by bike. A few kilometers of roads run around the island by the North Sea, you might want to ride at dusk when the bluish skylight and the water color merge.

Place to stay:

modern design, excellent service, quality breakfast, fine restaurant. Recommendable.

out of my window in Kampot

Kampot, Cambodia.

This small town in south-east Cambodia is a very pleasant mix of old colonial buildings.
Some of them, having been renovated, host boutique hotels, B&Bs, cafes, shops and restaurants, adding new tones to the special, suspended atmosphere in town.

Pictures taken at:

Kampot's area and the near town of Kep are best described in Dustin's piece here:
